George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin would love vacation rentals. Seriously!
In fact, about the time the US was formed there were no hotels, a few inns and most folks bunked in the homes of other people. Surprising yes, but in those days just getting any room was a major problem. Travelers stayed in the homes of other people. It was simple, it was logical and a good deal of lodger and lodge owner.
So now we're back to our roots, where everyone knows its more fun to stay in a full size cabin, condo, villa or house instead of a teeny tiny hotel room. George, Tom and Ben were, if anything, practical gents. These guys would applaud the idea of renting out unused homes for the comfort and enjoyment of other citizens.
Long live America. Land of the brave and the free and value-added, fast and furious, plenty available and always a better deal - vacation rentals. Take that King George.
